A BALLINGRY care home has won three titles at the 2023 Scottish Care Awards.

Benore Care Centre, on Lochleven Road, was nominated for three categories, the Outstanding Achievement Award for their resident Sharon Findlay, the Meaningful Activity Award for their wellbeing team and the Nurse of the Year award for Vany Thomas.

Deputy manager, Shelly Lindsay, told the Times: "We put nominations in a few weeks ago for Nurse of the Year, our wellbeing team and our outstanding achievement awards.

"These ones were picked out of the whole of Scotland to be in the final three."

Sharon, who won the Outstanding Achievement Award, was admitted to Benore unable to walk. She had been told that she would be there for the rest of her life.
