SKIDS frontman Richard Jobson is having a birthday bash in Dunfermline with acoustic music from himself and Martin Metcalfe on offer.
Jobson celebrates 63 summers on Thursday evening and will perform with Martin Metcalfe, of Goodbye Mr Mackenzie and The Filthy Tongues, at Fire Station Creative.
The event, billed as Songs & Stories, will also give fans a chance to buy Jobson's new novel ‘The Kreuzberg Sonata’ based on his experiences in Berlin, and hear music from both the performers' back catalogue.
The novel centres around Lang, a would-be writer who falls in love with Caroline and follows her to Berlin in 1979.
They live together in the run-down district of Kreuzberg only a few streets away from the Wall.
In search of his heroes Joseph Roth and Kurt Tucholsky, he navigates an island-city inhabited with a cynical mix of punk-squatters, heroin addicts, transvestites, prostitutes and dreamers.
As events overtake the young lovers, Lang realises that Berlin is now a city of ghosts where tragedy remains the only certainty.
Tickets cost £12 and can be bought on Eventbrite and from the venue’s cafe/bar.
Doors at 6.30pm with music on from 7pm.
