AN APPEAL against a decision to refuse an extension at a Cardenden property has been rejected by the Scottish Government's Planning and Environmental Appeals Division.

Agents for applicant Lee Coombe lodged the appeal after an initial application for a replacement dormer extension to the front of a Cardenden Road home and a dormer extension to the rear was rejected by Fife Council.

In appeal documents the reason for refusal, which was "in the interest of visual amenity", was disputed on the grounds that other neighbouring properties had similar dormers.

However, the appeal was thrown out after case officer Rebecca Davidson said it should have been sent to the council's local review body.
