A serial ‘neighbour from hell’ has been put on a ‘tag’ because of his latest anti-social behaviour.
Amos Weir, now of Dunfermline, shouted abuse at a neighbour who was standing in his garden watching fireworks in Kelty.
Weir, 49, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.
He admitted that on November 5 last year at Crambeth Place, Kelty, he shouted, swore, acted aggressively and made offensive remarks towards a male neighbour.
Depute fiscal Catherine Stevenson said that on that night Weir had been at home drinking and playing loud music.
The neighbour had been in his garden watching a fireworks display.
When Weir spotted him he started shouting at the man who went into his home and called the police.
When officers arrived they heard Weir shouting at the man, calling him a “dirty black b******” and a “little p****”.
Defence solicitor Stephen Morrison pointed out that the “black” remark was not racism but referred to a lack of cleanliness and was “parlance used in this geographical area”.
He added: “He was having difficulties with this neighbour who wasn’t shy of shouting at Mr Weir.”
The court was told Weir was now staying with his father and would not be returning to the Kelty property.
Sheriff Craig McSherry imposed a four-month restriction of liberty order.
Weir has a history of “difficulties” with neighbours. In January 2021 he was jailed for nine months for threatening to kill a neighbour in Cowdenbeath.
At that time, he also bragged to social workers about using anti-social behaviour to force another neighbour to move.
