A KELTY man has been left "living in fear" after his van was set on fire outside of his home.

Roy Grieves was awoken by a "loud bang" at 1am on Wednesday morning before discovering the vehicle had gone up in flames.

CCTV at his home on Keltyhill Crescent captured the moment on video where a figure is seen to approach the van to try the doors.

The hooded person later returns, seconds before what appears to be an explosion.

The Press understands the incident did not involve petrol bomb, as stated on social media.

Roy said: "I was awakened by a loud bang from outside then as looking out window discovered my van was on fire.

"I went out and got the hose from back garden to try and keep flames at bay. I was starting to lose the fight when the fire brigade appeared thankfully.

"We are living in fear now as we've no idea what's coming next.

"As I used van for going away at weekends it was kitted out with solar panels so now I can't escape from the pressures of life."

Police were called to the scene at around 1.05am on Wednesday, August 23.

The fire is being treated as deliberate and anyone with information has been asked to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a van set on fire at Keltyhill Crescent in Kelty around 1.05am on Wednesday, 23 August.

“The fire is being treated as deliberate and enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 0155 of 23 August.”
