ANTICIPATION is building ahead of Benarty Gala at Lochore Meadows.

This year's annual event takes place on Sunday, June 25, and is described as "the biggest day of the year" for organisers Benarty Events Group (BEG).

The gala is massively popular throughout Fife with people coming from all over the Kingdom to enjoy a great day.

This year BEG hope the gala will be even bigger and better than previous years.

The parade which leaves Benarty Centre at 11am looks like being the biggest yet, BEG say.

Again the group will be welcoming back their army of volunteers to make the day a massive success and anyone who would like to help out at the gala can contact the group on their Facebook page when the call for volunteers goes out.

“Our volunteers are crucial to making the day a success without them the gala would impossible to put on," Eddie Easson, BEG chairman, commented.

"We need helpers for everything on the day from parade marshalling, car parking, traffic management to gala box distribution.

"Then the field clean-up and the dismantling of the arena.”

On the day there will be funfair rides, bouncy castles, live entertainment on the stage, races for all ages, the wrestlers plus much more.

Once again Benarty Events Group will be distributing free gala tickets to all primary and nursery school children who stay in the Benarty area.

The ticket entitles the children to a gala box and drink, and a free funfair and bouncy castle wristband.

Gala tickets are also on sale at various outlets in the Benarty area at the cost £3.

Last year the group distributed and sold more than 4,000 tickets and anticipate the same sales this year.

As has been well documented Rockore sold-out in record time this year and it looks like being another massive success for the group and the Benarty community.

Monies raised at Rockore goes directly towards the yearly events in the area.

Eddie added: "Benarty Events Group hope that everyone who attends Benarty Gala and the Pipe Band and Highland Dancing Competition events have a fantastic time and really enjoy the days safe in the knowledge that BEG will work hard to make it work."
