COWDENBEATH have secured a 'real coup' with their latest signing arriving today (Thursday) from Kelty Hearts.

That is the view from manager Calum Elliot as Robbie McNab swaps New Central Park for Central Park after the clubs agreed an "undisclosed fee", Kelty said.

The 27-year-old will provide a versatile option for the Blue Brazil boss as he can play across the defence and in midfield.

He signed for Kelty Hearts from BSC Glasgow in 2020 and finished last season on loan at Darvel.

Speaking after completing the formalities, Elliot commented: "Robbie is a real coup for the club.

"He’s a winner, demands standards of his teammates and is at a great age to be part of a Cowdenbeath side which wants to start competing again.

"His desire to come and play for the club despite a difficult year was really positive.

"I’m sure he’s one the supporters will relate to with his selflessness and hunger to win games of football."

McNab said: "Firstly I’d just like to thank the club for bringing me here, after speaking with the manager and those involved it got me excited to be part of the team moving forward.

"Secondly, to thank Kelty for allowing this move to happen and giving myself some amazing memories over the last three seasons.

"Really looking forward to getting back to it in what will be a competitive league!”

A Kelty Hearts club statement said: "Robbie McNab agrees deal with Cowdenbeath in the Lowland League.

"Kelty Hearts FC have agreed to transfer Robbie McNab to Cowdenbeath for an undisclosed fee.

"Signed by Barry Ferguson in the Lowland League Nathan after impressing during his time with BSC Glasgow.

"Robbie has been a versatile plater in the Kelty Hearts side playing in several positions over his three seasons in Maroon.

"We would like to thank Robbie for his time here at Kelty Hearts and wish him well for the future."

Cowdenbeath have already made several signings in the wake of the 2022/23 campaign drawing to a close.

Jack Tait, a 25-year-old left-back, was the first in the door at Central Park after joining from Hermes FC.

Ewan Macpherson, who was top goalscorer for Cumbernauld Colts last season, soon followed with the 24-year-old striker putting pen to paper.

Experienced striker Kevin Smith will also play in Cowden colours next year as well as aiding Calum Elliot in the dugout as assistant manager.

Ciaren Chalmers and Gregor Jordan both joined from Gala Fairydean Rovers on Tuesday evening, taking the summer signings total to five.

And then, earlier today, Josh Jack joined from Hurlford United.
