HILL of Beath Hawthorn's under-20 side are aiming to make history tonight (Friday) and be crowned league champions.

The young squad currently sit top of the table in Conference C of the Scottish Lowlands Development Football League.

With one game to go, they host second-placed Musselburgh Athletic at home this evening knowing a win or draw will be enough to secure the league title for the first time.

The Haws are on 49 points after 21 games, with Musselburgh one point behind them on 48.

The sides meet at Beath High School for a 7.45pm kick-off.

The title decider will also be manager Lindsay Scott's final game in charge.

She is set to depart at the end of the season and the club is hoping she receives the perfect farewell.

The club said: "A big match for our Lindsay tonight against Musselburgh U20s in the final league fixture of the season.

"A win or draw sees the Haws U20s crowned champions."

The club's John Mitchell said: "I had no hesitation in taking Lindsay on after meeting her for the first time."

He highlighted that her "attitude and understanding" were a match for her knowledge of the game.

He continued: "Lindsay took over the U20s in the 2019 season and reaches her pinnacle tonight with a chance of winning the league title."
