A LOCHORE man just released from jail has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.

Robert Gunn, 32, of Ivanhoe Avenue, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court to be sentenced from an offence committed more than two years ago.

He admitted that on October 19. 2020 at Cleikimin Crescent, Ballingry, he was unlawfully in possession of an offensive weapon, a metal object.

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said the incident had been captured on CCTV which appeared to show Gunn holding a machete.

Gunn and another man had been spotted in a garden but had got into a car and driven off.

Defence solicitor Alan Davie said that at the time his client had “become involved in a few local grudges".

Gunn was recently released from prison having been jailed last year for fire-raising offences.

Sheriff William Gilchrist imposed a community payback order with 100 hours of unpaid work.
