A MAN has been arrested after crashing a car into a flat block in Cardenden.

The 27-year-old was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy as a precaution following the incident, which occurred yesterday evening (Thursday) on Derran Drive.

Police Scotland has confirmed that enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing.

A spokesperson said: "Around 9.25pm on Thursday, 27 April, 2023 we were called to a report of a car having collided with a building on Derran Drive, Cardenden, Lochgelly.

"The 27-year-old male driver of the car was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy as a precaution.

"He was also arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing."

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service mobilised two appliances to the scene where firefighters worked to make the area safe.

A spokesperson stated: "We were alerted at 9.28pm on Thursday, 27 April to reports of a vehicle colliding with a flat block on Derran Drive, Cardenden.

"Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene where firefighters worked to make the area safe.

"There were no reported casualties and crews left the scene at 9.48pm."
