A DRIVER who tested positive for cannabis was arrested after a crash near Cowdenbeath.

Police Scotland Fife stated that officers were alerted to an incident in the town on Saturday night.

The crash involved one car, which police say fled from the scene.

The driver and car were then traced to Crossgates.

An arrest was made after a positive test for cannabis.

A statement said: "We were alerted to a crash near Cowdenbeath last night (Saturday) involving one car that had then driven off.

"Fife Road Policing officers attended and a short time later traced the driver and car in Crossgates.

"Arrested due to a positive @DrugWipeUK for cannabis and bloods taken."
