THE owner of a Crosshill business has been left heartbroken by a devastating blaze which ripped through the shop.

The Times told you on Wednesday that emergency services raced to a fire at 360 Wheel Repairs on Main Street.

In a post on social media in the last few minutes, the company have revealed the back section of the store has been “completely destroyed”, with an electrical fault the likely cause.

They commented: “Devastated to announce on Wednesday morning at 5am we had a fire and has completely destroyed the back section of the unit.

“The cause of fire looks like an electrical fault the fire brigade have announced.

“No one was in the unit at the time so no casualties, thankfully.”

The post continued to state how disappointed they were by harmful claims on social media.

They said: “For all the negative and cruel comments posted online about this being an ‘insurance job’, I have taken personally.

“I have put everything into this business, and took me a long time to get started and I wouldn't ruin that.

“Just coming to put this post up has taken me three days as this is very heart-breaking time for me.

“I thank the fire brigade and all the firefighters that attended that morning, your jobs are seriously undervalued.

“We will be back.”

They stated that all trading has been ceased with immediate effect, and any bookings have been cancelled.

Fire crews raced to the commercial premises in Main Street to tackle the blaze which began just before 5.30am.

The incident resulted in disruption around the area with buses having to be diverted for some of the morning while emergency services were on the scene.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 5.29am on Wednesday, April 19 to reports of a building fire in Crosshill, Fife.

"Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances to the town's Main Street, where firefighters were met by a fire affecting a commercial premises.

"Crews extinguished the fire and worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene.

"There were no casualties."
