EASTER Sunday was magic at the Meedies as thousands of Easter Eggs were handed out to kids and families from the local community.

Organised by Derek Davidson, the massive giveaway at Fairy Wood was a treat for all.

The Benarty Fairy, Emma Kelly, teamed up with the Easter Bunny to greet children at the entrance to the popular trail, with almost 2,000 eggs presented on the day across Lochore Meadows and to other children and adults in the area.

Derek told the Times it was a "brilliant day" and that they cannot wait for next year, paying tribute to those who helped him put together the family fun day.

He said: "Donations had poured in from the local community and local businesses.

"Fife Council had approved us two generous grants which helped ensure no kid went without.

"We couldn’t do this without the support of everyone.

"Our beautiful resident fairy Emma Kelly was having her photo taken with kids for the two and a half hours we were on the park along with the Easter Bunny.

"We also had Gordon Mackie as our DJ, Lisa Brannigan Reid and Isabel McShane with blow up costumes, with Lyndsay Mackie doing face painting, and thanks to my good lady Michele for putting up with me doing this, that, and the next thing for the last month to get this event organised.

"John 'The Cat' Robertson who is my second in command encouraged folk to pop donations into the fairy wishing well to assist with future projects.

"Thanks to Charlotte Howe, who does the grant paperwork, banking stuff and all the email bumf throughout the year, for dishing out eggs all afternoon and park manager Ian Laing made sure parking was available for all and maintained everyone’s safety throughout.

"All in all a brilliant day was had. Roll on next year."
