A Dunfermline man gave a “ridiculous” explanation for why he had ignored his driving ban.
Shea Donnelly, 24, of Kent Street, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on July 25 in Bank Street, Lochgelly, he drove a van when disqualified and without insurance.
Depute fiscal Catherine Stevenson said police officers had spotted Donnelly driving and knew he was banned which resulted in him being stopped.
Defence solicitor David McLaughlin said: “He knows he’s in a difficult position and that custody is a possibility.
“His schedule of previous convictions does him no favours.”
Donnelly’s reason for driving was that he was tired after his work and so had decided to take the van.
Sheriff Peter Anderson said: “It’s a ridiculous explanation.”
He went on: “This was a deliberate defiance of court orders.”
Donnelly was given another two-year driving ban and was fined £2245.
