A CROSSHILL man, who caused a disturbance in front of a young child and later sent “disgraceful” messages to his former partner, has been sentenced.

Scott Brown, 41, of Main Street, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on September 30 at his home he shouted and swore, whilst in the presence of a six-year-old child.

He also admitted that between December 10 and 11 at Clunie Road, Dunfermline, he sent text messages to his ex-partner in which he swore, made derogatory remarks and threats of violence.

Sheriff Charles Macnair told Brown: “You behaved in the most appalling manner in the presence of the child.

“You then sent texts including threats of violence and other messages which were of a disgraceful sort.”

The sheriff imposed a community payback order with 18 months of supervision, a four-month restriction of liberty order and a one-year non-harassment order.
