COLIN Jack was delighted to oversee Cowdenbeath's biggest win of the season with a thumping 6-0 win over Dalbeattie Star on Saturday.

The interim boss watched on as six different scorers contributed to the victory over the Lowland League's bottom side.

It was goals galore as Dean Ritchie, Mikey Cunningham, Sam Young and Dan Watt all scored before the break, with Callum Murray and Jack Garrad applying gloss to the scoreline in the second half.

With three games to go, the Blue Brazil can still improve their standing in the table.

Civil Service Strollers arrive at Central Park this weekend, before Cowden visit The Spartans, and finally host East Kilbride as the season is brought to an end.

Jack feels his young squad can demonstrate their improvement in the second-half of the season with three good performances before the campaign concludes.

He said: "We knew that Dalbeattie Star would battle hard, but we created a lot of good chances, as we have done in many games recently, and this time took a good percentage of them.

“The fact that we had six different scorers was also important and it was a good day for us.”

But he wants a repeat this Saturday when CS Strollers come to Central Park: “We have three games to go and while we take them one at a time, we have to be aiming to beat Strollers and keep building our points total.

“Hopefully hitting six goals will have boosted our confidence levels and give us the impetus to get another win on the board this Saturday.

“It is a hard finish, against top half of the table sides, but it gives the players the chance to test themselves against the best players in the division and show that they compete strongly against quality opposition.”

There were no injuries reported from the Star game so Jack may stick with same team which scored the club’s best win of the season for the match with the Strollers.

Midfielder Stuart Love is still suspended, but striker Scott Sinclair and midfielder Andy Black, who both suffered from illness at the weekend, will be in the squad.

Meanwhile, Danny Farrell has re-signed for next season, with Jack commenting: “Danny has played well for us throughout the campaign and it is good that he has pledged his future with Cowdenbeath."
