A 15-year-old girl was punched by a woman who had been told her child had been assaulted.
The incident took place during a social event held at Lochgelly Motorsports Complex.
Nicola Crawford, 39, of Sinclair Drive, Cowdenbeath, went on trial at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
She denied that on April 2 last year at Lochgelly Motorsports Complex she assaulted a girl, then aged 15, by striking her on the head with her hand.
Sheriff James Macdonald found Crawford guilty and said that he fully accepted the girl had been punched and not pushed, as Crawford had claimed.
However, the sheriff also found that Crawford had acted under provocation.
The incident took place after Crawford had been told her child had been assaulted.
The sheriff deferred sentence on the first-time offender for good behaviour until June 7.
