AROUND 30 good causes received a share of £90,000 of donations from the Fife Ethylene Plant last year.

The firm is now inviting local charities or groups who are planning projects aimed at benefitting their communities to come forward.

During 2022, the Mossmorran plant provided funding to schools for STEM equipment and projects, to local sports clubs for much-needed kit and to Fife charities to help vulnerable people in times of crisis.

It helped community-based charities to ensure local children received gifts at Christmas and it is also helping to ensure that serving and retired members of the armed forces and their families will receive the support they need in the current challenging economic climate.

It also handed over £2,000 to Andy’s Man Club enabling it to buy five-a-side equipment.

It has given money to the Kingdom Off-Road group to help with its various youth projects and donated to Benarty Children’s Gala to help cover costs of the event and to Cowdenbeath Primary for books and play equipment.

The donations are all made through ExxonMobil’s schools’ and communities’ funding schemes which have, over the years, seen millions of pounds donated to worthy recipients.

Every year, the company helps with both cash and kind donations and its staff also help through volunteering days, mentoring programmes and on-site fundraising projects.

Martin Burrell, Manager at FEP, said: “We are happy to be able to do what we can to help out in our local communities, be it through our link schools’ programme or community donations.

“We are always pleased to hear the difference it can make to these organisations and the people they serve.”

“We would encourage groups to get in touch to see if we are able to assist.”

If any group would like to apply for funding or help, they should contact communications consultant Tom Antram at thomas.antram@exxonmobil.co.uk, giving a brief outline of the project they are seeking help with.
