A Kelty man has been jailed for the downloading and possession of child abuse images.

Robert Drummond, 37, of Keltyhill Avenue, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court today (Monday) having been found guilty of two charges after a jury trial in December.

At that stage he was put on the sex offenders' register alongside his triplet brother Ryan who was convicted for similar offences last year.

Robert Drummond was convicted of offences that between February 18, 2014, and December 4, 202,0 he was in possession of indecent photographs of children and that between the same dates he downloaded indecent images of children.

Some of the images were in category ‘A’, the grouping for the most graphic and vile content.

During the trial, Drummond blamed his brother Ryan for the images being on his devices.

When Ryan had previously been caught with indecent images on his devices, he had put the blame on Robert.

However, Ryan Drummond, of Drum Road, Kelty, later admitted his guilt in January last year.

Robert Drummond was jailed for two and a half years by Sheriff Charles Macnair.
