A STREET in the Benarty area could be named after the late Willie Clarke as a proposal was put to Fife Council.
He was Ballingry's councillor for more than 40 years and was regarded as an "amazing man" and someone "who served his community all of his life".
Mr Clarke was awarded the Freedom of Fife in 2016, and the visitor centre at Lochore Meadows was named after him in 2018.
Sadly, one year later, he passed away at the age of 84.
At the most recent meeting of Benarty Community Council, it was suggested that the name Willie Clarke Street could be fitting for the new housing development south of New Flockhouse, Lochore.
"A street named after the late Willie Clarke was the most popular option from consultation responses and community councillors," a spokesperson for the community council said.
"After initial pause, Fife Council agreed to put the suggestion forward to the elected ward councillors."
