IF YOU have money burning a hole in your pocket from Santa then the Cowdenbeath club shop is calling your name.

For those who did not receive reading material over Christmas, a New Year treat is quite literally in store.

Such has been the interest from people all over the world, the football club decided to reprint the trilogy club history, as well as creating two new volumes of the club's story.

It was in 2020 Cowden published the three volume History of Cowdenbeath FC. It told the story from Mrs Margaret Pollock buying the first football ever seen in Cowdenbeath in 1880, right up to lockdown 2020, and everything in between.

Club secretary and historian, David Allan, said: “The three volumes tell the story of Cowdenbeath FC in words and pictures, and over 250 photos are included."

Part 1 is The Signalmen - covering the club’s most successful period 1880 to 1940. Part 2 – The Miners - looks at the Post-War era 1940 to 2000; and Part 3 – The Blue Brazil - covers the turbulent and exciting 21st century Cowden.

Added David: “Each volume is 52 pages, with no adverts, adding up to a 156-page history of Cowdenbeath FC.

“This proved to be such a popular publication that it ended up as a complete sell-out. But due to continued demand we have arranged for a reprint and the three volumes are now back in stock.

“We also have a fourth volume available - ‘Still Flying the Flag’ which is an illustrated oral history of Cowdenbeath FC.

"The story is told primarily by those who have played for the club over the years adding a fresh perspective on the Club history.

“However, that’s not all, as hot off the presses the club has now published ‘When the Sun Shines’ – a fifth volume in the trilogy! Or at least Part V in the Cowdenbeath FC history series.

“This volume focuses on various aspects of the club’s rich history, and again is a lavishly illustrated 52-page publication."

Each individual booklet is priced at £4, with £2 post per individual booklet. Two to five booklets will have a postage cost of £3.

These of course are available from the club shop, including from at the club’s partner outlet, at Lucie-sue Coffee Bar & Gift Boutique, in the High Street.

For postal purchases, the best method to get your copies is by making a donation to Club 135, via the club’s website for the requisite amount.

An e-mail to the club: office@cowdenbeathfc.com can advise what booklets you are ordering.

Concluded David Allan: “We can provide bank account details though on request if anyone wants to make a bank transfer to pay.

"Otherwise Facebook message or email the club.

"Any cheques should be made payable to Cowdenbeath Football Club.

"Get these on your bookshelf alongside Black Diamonds and the Blue Brazil!”
