A COWDENBEATH man has been put on a ‘tag’ for causing a disturbance at a house and having a baseball bat in another incident.

Colvin Martin, 20, of Hillcrest, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on December 9, 2020, at Ochil View, Lumphinnans, he was unlawfully in possession of a baseball bat.

He also admitted that on November 21 last year, at Moss Side Road, Cowdenbeath, he shouted, swore, made a threat of violence and upturned furniture in the house.

Depute fiscal Catherine Stevenson said that, in the first incident, Martin and his partner had been drinking at her home.

She thought he was feeling suicidal and he then grabbed a baseball bat going into the street.

She contacted the police and when they found Martin, he discarded the bat and apologised.

The other incident involved Martin going into his mum’s home and shouting abuse at her then partner including a threat, “I’m going to kill you.”

Defence solicitor Stephen Morrison said: “It was at his mum’s home and he heard her partner shouting at her. He didn’t like him anyway but he feels stupid about the way he handled it.

“In the other case, he was worried at that time about a lack of money because of COVID.”

Sheriff Francis Gill imposed a community payback order with 12 months of supervision and a four-month restriction of liberty order.
