A 24-YEAR-OLD man was caught drink-driving and five months later ignored his ban.
Jamie McGuigan, formerly of Oakley, now living in White Threshes Road, Cowdenbeath, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.
He admitted that on April 5, he drove a car in Johnston Crescent, Dunfermline, without insurance and having consumed excess alcohol.
His reading was 67 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 22 microgrammes.
He also admitted that on September 17, in Bank Street, Francis Street and North Street, Lochgelly, he drove a car when disqualified and without insurance.
He also failed to comply with a breath test when required to do so by a police officer.
Defence solicitor Ian Beatson said: “He has had issues with alcohol. He appreciates he’s put himself in a perilous position.”
At the previous hearing, McGuigan was warned he could be facing a custodial sentence.
However, Sheriff Francis Gill imposed a community payback order with 120 hours of unpaid work and 12 months of supervision. He also imposed a one-year driving ban.
