A POST Office in Central Fife is set to be on the move.

Proposals are in place to relocate the Kelty branch from the Co-op on Main Street to the Co-op on Cocklaw Street.

New Co-op premises are being built and the proposal is to move the store and Post Office to this modern, new, store with a dedicated car park and double the amount of opening hours across its offerings.

There would be a dedicated area of the store for the Post Office with two screened positions. The opening hours would be the same as currently: Monday to Friday: 9am – 5.30pm; Saturday: 9am – 1pm.

However, there would also be a low-screened, modern till at the retail counter offering most Post Office products and services, which would be open daily from 6am – 10pm, throughout the store’s opening hours.

This would mean that the branch would be open an extra 65 hours and 30 minutes of Post Office service a week.

This would be more than double the current opening hours including all day Sunday and Saturday afternoon.

Access would be level with a wide door at the entrance to the proposed premises.

Internally, there would be a low-level serving counter, a low-level writing desk, a hearing loop and space for a wheelchair.

Consultation for the proposed move has begun and there is the opportunity to give feedback until January 20.

Customers can share their views during the consultation online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 198844.
