A 58-YEAR-OLD man who started a cannabis farm in the attic of a Kelty house has been jailed.

Michael Kenny, of West High Street, Buckhaven, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He was found guilty previously by a jury of the three charges he faced.

Between January 25 and February 22, 2019, at Beechbank Crescent, Kelty, he produced cannabis.

Between the same dates, he was concerned in the supply of cannabis.

He also intentionally altered the register of an electricity meter.

The trial heard that, during a raid by police, 210 cannabis plants and 94 seedlings were found in the house.

Kenny denied knowledge of the plants, claiming it was his brother who was living in the house at the time.

Sheriff Susan Duff jailed Kenny for two years.
