A MAN from Fife has died after a car crash in Wales.

An appeal for witnesses has been launched after a single-vehicle collision near Cardiff on Sunday.

The incident took place on the eastbound carriageway of the M4 between junctions 30 and 32 at around 12.15pm and involved a grey Mercedes.

"The vehicle collided with the central reservation before coming to a halt on the hard shoulder," police said.

The driver of the car, a 69-year-old man from the Kingdom, died at the scene.

A statement from South Wales Police Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan, read: "We are appealing for witnesses to a single vehicle road traffic collision which happened on the eastbound carriageway of the M4 between junctions 30 and 32 at around 12.15pm on Sunday (November 20) and involved a grey Mercedes.

"The car collided with the central reservation before coming to a halt on the hard shoulder.

"The driver for the car, a 69-year-old man from Fife, Scotland, died at the scene.

"Our thoughts are with the man's family at this time.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision or the way in which the grey Mercedes was being driven prior to the incident, or who may have any dash-cam footage to contact us.
