COWDENBEATH Rotary Club is enlisting the support of pupils at Beath and Lochgelly high schools as they prepare for their centenary in 2023-24.

Through an approach by honorary member, and former member of staff at Beath, Lesley Porter, both schools are keen to support a competition to design a logo for the club for its centenary year, which should contain the rotary wheel.

Said Lesley: “The competition is open to two departments within each school, Art and Design and CTD, and will involve two categories, S1, S2 and S3; and also S4, S5 and S6.

“There will be a cash prize in each category for the winner and runner-up, including an award to the winning school.”

Winners of each category will go forward to the final where members of the rotary club will judge the overall winner.

Entries are to be ready for collection by Rotarians on Monday December 5 and the schools will be notified of winners by Friday, December 16.

Added Lesley: “The overall winner will have his or her design used on publicity, banners and club activities for our year-long celebrations.”
