NHS FIFE has announced its arrangements for the day of the funeral of Her Majesty the Queen.
The health board has put measures in place that will allow for as many of their staff and patients as possible to observe the public holiday on Monday, September 19, while ensuring they can still deliver vital healthcare to the Kingdom.
Sharing the information on their Facebook, NHS Fife wrote: "In line with national guidance, we are working to ensure that scheduled activity and appointments are maintained wherever possible:
- Elective surgery and outpatient appointments will continue, where possible.
- Flu and Covid-19 vaccination will continue, although appointments at Parkgate Community Centre are being moved to the Bruce Suite at Queen Margaret Hospital.
- GP and Dental Practices will be closed.
- Many Community Pharmacies will be closed, however, some will remain open. People are encouraged to ensure their prescriptions are up-to-date ahead of closure.
- Many Opticians will be observing the public holiday.
"Given the short notice ahead of this exceptional public holiday, some services are still putting plans in place."
NHS Fife will post any additional information regarding their services on the day of the funeral for Queen Elizabeth II on its website and social media pages.
