THE national bank holiday marking the state funeral of her late Majesty the Queen will result in closures across Fife Council on Monday.

All nurseries and schools will be closed as well as council offices to mark the last day of the national mourning period.

Bin collections on the day of the service will not go ahead, with plans underway to deal with as much of the backlog as possible.

Any bins not be picked up will be picked up on their next collection date, recycling centres will also be closed.

Libraries and leisure centres will be closed and scheduled gas servicing appointments will not now go ahead, a letter with a rearranged date will go out in the coming days.

Meals on wheels and social care residential support will operate as usual and emergency and critical cover will continue to be provided.
