A CARDENDEN woman bit one police officer and kicked another during a disturbance.
Karen Cunningham, 40, of Main Road, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
She admitted that on August 19 last year, at Denfield Avenue, Cardenden, she shouted and swore towards police officers and brandished a glass candle-holder.
She also assaulted a police officer by biting and scratching him.
She then assaulted a second officer by kicking out and striking her on the chest.
Depute fiscal Amy Robertson said Cunningham was living at a friend’s house at the time.
On this night, she had been consuming alcohol and smoking cannabis.
She became paranoid and thought her friend was trying to kidnap her, added the depute.
Cunningham then phoned the police, claiming someone had drugged her.
When officers arrived, she refused to open the door initially and then picked up a candle-holder, brandishing it.
She then got into a physical struggle with the officers, biting one of them on the hand.
Defence solicitor David McLaughlin said: “She regrets her actions. Her mental health was quite poor at the time.”
Sheriff James MacDonald imposed a restriction of liberty order for 75 days.
