A COWDENBEATH man threatened to strangle his partner in a row over the state of their home.

Krzystof Legutko, 36, now of West Pilton Avenue, Edinburgh, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court accompanied by a translator.

He admitted that on March 25, at his then home in Dalbeath Crescent, Cowdenbeath, he acted aggressively, shouted at and threatened to strangle his partner.

Depute fiscal Amy Robertson said that at around 7pm, an argument had started between the couple “about the cleanliness of the house”.

Legutko began shouting at his partner and threatened her.

“He only stopped because their child started crying,” added the depute.

The court was told Legutko was working night shifts at the time and was “at breaking point”.

Sheriff Susan Duff fined Legutko £395 and imposed a one-year non-harassment order.
