A DRIVER caught travelling nearly 100mph on the M90 near Kelty could face a ban and four-figure fine.

Fife Road Policing teams clocked the motorist travelling at 98mph on the motorway.

"Travelling this much over the 70mph speed limit nearly doubles the stopping distance," the force said.

Officers added that it can result in a "greater risk of a crash and injury," whilst also commenting that the driver has been reported for the incident.

They stated: "Reported to Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service and could mean a ban and up to a £2,500 fine."
