A TOTAL of seven West Fife neighbourhoods were included in the highest rating category for coronavirus cases last week.

The weekly statistics from Public Health Scotland showed the COVID-19 hotspots in the Kingdom between June 11 and 17.

In this time, there were 1005 cases – 296 more than the previous week – which resulted in a seven day positive rate of 268.6 cases per 100, population.

Dunfermline Masterton recorded a total of 21 cases placing it in the category for locations between 400 and 799 cases per 100,000 population.

Also with this rating were Dunfermline Touch and Woodmill (14), Dalgety Bay Central (20) , Dalgety Bay East (11), Dunfermline Brucefield (14), Dunfermline Pitcorthie East (15) and Dunfermline Milesmark and Wellwood (15).

The locations in the 200-399 cases per 100,000 population were Dunfermline Central (12), Oakley, Comrie and Blairhall (15), Dunfermline Pitcorthie West (9), Inverkeithing East (10), North Queensferry and Inverkeithing West (11), Dunfermline Duloch North and Lynebank (21), Dunfermline Baldridgeburn (12), Kincardine (10), Cairneyhill and Crombie (9), Dalgety Bay West and Hillend (8), Rosyth South (12), Rosyth East (9), Dunfermline Bellyeoman and Townhill (15) and Crossgates and Halbeath (10).

Also in this category were Crossford, Charlestown and Limekilns (12), Rosyth North (8), Rosyth Central (9), Dunfermline Headwell (12), Saline and Gowkhall (9), Dunfermline Abbeyview North (8), Kelty East (8), Dunfermline Duloch South (8) and Dunfermline Garvock Hill (6).

There were five West Fife neighbourhoods in the 100-199 cases per 100,000 population. These were Dunfermline Abbeyview South (5), Hill of Beath and Kingseat (6), Kelty West (4), Aberdour and Auchtertool (5) and Valleyfield, Culross and Torryburn (5).
