THE first meeting of Andy's Man Club in Cowdenbeath was hailed a tremendous success as 16 men walked through the doors on Monday night this week.

The excellent turnout included six men who decide to try the group for the first time.

James Scade, who helped launch the local group and owes the men's support network his life, could not have wished for a better opening.

He told the Times: "Honestly, I am so proud of every single one of them for making that step through those doors.

"There were some extremely powerful shares.

"We kick on to next week now and do it all again."

Following family bereavement two years ago, the now 26-year-old was struggling to cope, and it was his GP that advised him to try Andy's Man Club.

He never looked back, and a recent video he shared on the Cowdenbeath club's Facebook page documenting his experiences resonated with many.

James said: "It was very emotional for me hearing a fella in there saying he's attended after seeing my videos/post on Facebook.

"Truly humbling and I couldn't be more happy."

James paid tribute to the efforts of Dean Ewing from Cowdenbeath FC's Cowden in the Community programme, Alex McClintock (Project Development Champion, AMC), Pete Morrison, Michelle and Dana Coyle, and Taylor Young (Taylor's Sweet Treats) for the part they all played in organising and ensuring the first night was a success.

Andy’s Man Club Cowdenbeath runs every Monday night at 7pm (18+), at Central Park.
