DOG-OWNERS are being reminded to clean up after their pets on hospital grounds.

NHS Fife staff have reported increased incidences of dog fouling near some of their facilities.

They say this has primarily been at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, but the warning also extends to Queen Margaret Hospital and Lynebank Hospital in Dunfermline.

The service has asked that visitors and dog-walkers do not allow their dogs to foul on their sites.

In Scotland it is an offence for someone in charge of a dog to not dispose of any excrement in a public place.

Those caught face a fixed penalty notice with a fine for £80.
