A 30-YEAR-OLD man has been sentenced for his abusive behaviour towards his former partner in Hill of Beath.
Darren Reape, formerly of Dalbeath Gardens, Hill of Beath, latterly living at Craigie Street, Ballingry, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on April 17, at Dalbeath Gardens, he repeatedly made unwanted phone calls and sent unwanted text messages to his ex-partner, requested via text message that she abort her unborn child and then attended at her home, repeatedly shouted, acted aggressively then struck and kicked a door.
Depute fiscal Zahra Bhatti said Reape had been sending an “excessive number of messages” throughout the day.
That night, neighbours across the road were wakened by loud banging and Reape was seen standing at the back of his ex-partner’s home, shouting.
Sheriff Francis Gill said: “This must have been very frightening for the complainer and the children in the house. You also have a very bad record.”
He imposed a community payback order with 90 hours of unpaid work, 24 months of supervision with alcohol counselling and Reape will also take part in the Caledonian Programme for domestic offenders.
