A CARDENDEN woman who sent abusive messages on social media has been fined.

Kirsty Brennan, 37, of Bluebell Gardens, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

She admitted that on June 11 last year she contacted a woman via Facebook Messenger and made offensive remarks.

She also admitted that on November 3 she contacted another female and again made offensive remarks.

Depute fiscal Zahra Bhatti said that the messages to the first woman, a neighbour, included calling her “a wee cow” and telling her to “f*** off” as well as a comment about her children.

The second offence involved messages about another neighbour.

She was complaining that the woman’s dog had defecated in her garden and added: “I’ll make her eat it from the grass.”

Defence solicitor Alan Jackson began telling the court his client was a single parent with three children.

However, Sheriff Grant McCulloch interrupted saying: “That’s all very well but this is the sort of thing she keeps doing. She lashes out verbally.”

Mr Jackson said: “She knows she just lost it when she became frustrated. She knows she has to restrain herself from that sort of behaviour.”

Sheriff McCulloch fined Brennan £345.
