LOVE will be all around the Meedies this summer as Rockore returns with an incredible headline act.

Wet Wet Wet have been announced as the top attraction at the festival set for Saturday, August 27, at Lochore Meadows Country Park.

The popular event's organisers, Benarty Events Group, had recently teased that they were, "in the final stages of negotiations with a headline act who are a huge chart-topping band", and added that those waiting for the big news would not be disappointed.

Highly successful in the late 80's and into the 90's, the Scottish band are known for tracks such as Love Is All Around, Angel Eyes, Goodnight Girl, Wishing I Was Lucky, and more.

Kevin Payne, from Benarty Events Group, told the Times: "We wanted to come back with bells and whistles, and we've done that with Wet Wet Wet.

"This is our best line-up so far, and Rockore is still in its infancy, so to pull this off is brilliant.

"We want to bring smiles to faces, as that is what the group is all about.

"It's been a bit doom and gloom in the past couple of years, so we're bringing back a bit of colour to the area again. We're back with a bang."

Joining Wet Wet Wet on the day will be a variety of both local and national acts, with the line-up as follows: Hugh Cornwell, QFX, Magic Queen - Europe's top Queen Tribute, PorkPie, Solid Gold Abba Tribute, Desperados - Eagles Tribute, Moonlight Zoo, AYE HOBOS-Evolution, and State of Emergency.

Tickets for Rockore cost £25 and these can be purchased from Benarty Fruits and online via Skiddle for £25, plus booking fee.
