A DRINK-DRIVER who was reportedly five times over the legal limit was stopped near Lochgelly on Saturday.
Fife Road Policing Unit pulled the driver over on the A92 after being informed by the public about his driving; officers suggested that in doing so, they may have prevented a "serious road traffic collision".
Police said the 24-year-old was reported to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.
A statement read: "FifeRP stopped a drink driver on the A92 this morning (Saturday). He blew 116 umg at the road side, that's five times the limit!
"Thanks to the public that called us about him; it's possibly saved a serious RTC.
"The 24-year-old driver has now been reported to Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service."
