A 24-year-old man has been sentenced for a series of offences against his former partner.

These included smashing a door panel and threatening to burn her flat down.

Brendan Duff, of Eldindean Road, Bonnyrigg, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on 24th August last year at South Street, Lochgelly, he acted aggressively towards his partner by shouting, swearing and refusing to leave despite being asked to do so.

He also admitted that on 19th April 2020 at James Court, Cowdenbeath, he struck a glass panel causing damage to it.

He further admitted that he acted aggressively, shouted, swore and made a threat to burn down the property.

Depute fiscal Catherine Stevenson said Duff turned up at the woman’s home, banging on the door, punching a glass panel and saying, “I’m going to burn down your flat.”

Sheriff Francis Gill imposed a community payback order with 135 hours of unpaid work and 12 months of supervision. He also imposed a two-year non-harassment order
