A MAN is to go on trial accused of making threats when holding a knife during an incident in Lochgelly.

David Michie is also accused of violently attacking his partner in the same street.

Michie, 38, of Wilmington Drive, Glenrothes, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court and denied four charges.

It is alleged that on March 8 he was found in the curtilage of a house in Station Road, Lochgelly, without lawful authority whereby it could be inferred he intended to commit theft there.

It is also alleged he attended at the house uninvited, tried the door in an attempt to gain entry, acted aggressively towards the householder and repeatedly shouted, swore, made threats of violence and brandished a knife at him.

Michie is also accused of acting aggressively towards his former partner in Station Road and shouted at her.

It is further alleged that he assaulted her, seized her by the hair, pulled her to the ground by her hair, dragged her along the ground by the hair and repeatedly kicked and punched her on the body, all to her injury.

Bail was refused by Sheriff William Gilchrist and trial will take place on April 13.
