Crossgates could be on track to lose its Post Office as the Postmaster looks to step back.
The matter was raised at a recent Crossgates Community Council meeting, though no formal notice of closure had been given at the time of writing.
A Post Office spokesperson said: “We’re aware that the Postmaster who operates Crossgates branch has expressed a desire to stop operating Post Offices services.
“We very much regret this and hope that they may reconsider.
“We’re in the process of contacting the Postmaster to discuss this with them in further detail as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.”
The Post Office opened last March after the previous Crossgates branch closed in 2017 when the Postmaster resigned.
During that time, mobile services were introduced, providing service twice a week from Cowdenbeath.
The Times has made attempts to contact the Postmaster regarding this issue.
