A CARDENDEN man went into the home of a female neighbour when heavily intoxicated and took his shoes off.

The woman living there did not know Steven Law, other than that he lived nearby, and asked him to leave.

He became irate and started to shout, swear and make threats of violence.

A court was told the woman, whose 14-year-old son was present, was “petrified” during the incident.

Then, after being told by police to stay away, he returned to the woman’s door, two floors above him in the block of flats.

Law, 31, of Cluny Park, is already on a community payback order for assaulting an eight-year-old boy and had appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court earlier that same day.

He was back in the dock to admit that on December 15, at Cluny Park, he entered the property uninvited, removed his shoes, shouted, swore, threatened violence to the householders, thereafter attended again at the door after being told by the police to refrain from doing so and shouted and swore.

He also admitted he assaulted a police officer by striking him on the body whereby he fell backwards and struck a wall.

Defence solicitor David Bell said: “He’d been at court that day and was pretty emotional about that. He then made the foolish decision of becoming intoxicated with alcohol and has little recollection.

“He cannot properly explain why he went to that property. His behaviour was inexcusable.”

Sheriff Eric Brown imposed another community payback order with 80 hours of unpaid work.
