ONE lucky reader from Cardenden has found out that it pays to read the Times after winning our £500 cash giveaway.

Catherine Bennie thought that entering our competition would be a "waste of time", but it was her name that was drawn from the hat this week.

Catherine collected the weekly tokens from recent copies of the Central Fife Times and sent them in along with the correct answer to this quiz question: 'What does WWW stand for?' (World Wide Web).

A regular Times reader, Catherine told us she was "blooming shocked" to have won, and that she was even more surprised to pick up the phone and hear some good news.

"When you said it was the Central Fife Times, I said (to myself) 'What have I been doing now?!'

"It's not often I get picked for anything like that."

Now that she is £500 better off, what will the winnings be spent on?

"I haven't a Scooby Doo!," she proclaimed.

"It could be anything really. I mean, you name it.

"It could be some new clothes or anything like that - I don’t know."

The Woodend Park resident said the cash giveaway had made her day, and we would like to further congratulate her and thank everyone else who entered our recent competition.
