A WOMAN was injured after being grabbed by her partner, causing her to fall against a wall.

Alexander McLeman had been out drinking before committing the offence.

McLeman, 34, of Grainger Street, Lochgelly, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted previously that on September 30, at Main Street, Townhill, he assaulted his partner by grabbing her body and pushing past her, causing her to fall against a wall to her injury.

Defence solicitor Alan Davie said: “He had been out drinking with friends and he went back home with them to continue drinking there.

“She was not keen on him returning there and that started the argument.

“He very much regrets his behaviour and says he felt gutted about it all afterwards.”

He said McLemen had a history of offending and had had issues with his mental health and alcohol consumption.

Sheriff Wyllie Robertson imposed a community payback order with 160 hours of unpaid work and 16 months of supervision.
