A RED Mini led police on a chase around Central and West Fife on Saturday night after failing to stop near Halbeath.
Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and Police say the car was last seen in the Redcraigs Toll area near Knockhill.
Witnesses had taken to social media to say they had spotted the Mini being pursued by several police vehicles in places including Townhill, Dunfermline, Cowdenbeath, Crossgates, Crosshill and Ballingry.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.25pm on Saturday, January 29, officers on a routine patrol, travelling on the A92 near to Halbeath, attempted to stop a red Mini Cooper in connection with road traffic offences.
"After the Mini did not stop, a short pursuit took place, and the vehicle was last seen near to the Redcraigs Toll area. Further enquiries are ongoing.”
