FIFE Housing Group have continued ‘Giving Something Back’ by donating a further £7,500 to local support projects.

Cheques were handed over to programmes helping some of the most vulnerable people in our communities at what can be a really difficult time of the year.

Colleagues visited Dunfermline Foodbank (which also serves Rosyth, Inverkeithing and Cowdenbeath), Fife Women’s Aid and Levenmouth Foodbank to make donations just before Christmas.

At Fife Women’s Aid, colleagues met with staff who spoke about the large increase in the number of women seeking out their help since the pandemic hit, meaning that they now have over 200 cases on their waiting list.

Colleagues will also be visiting Kirkcaldy Foodbank and the Fife Migrants Forum to present them with donations in the coming weeks.

The funding is available due to the generosity of the group’s contractors who have joined their charitable framework and pledged to donate two per cent of their invoiced costs to benefit these worthy causes.

Last year, Fife Housing Group launched their Giving Something Back grants programme, awarding £15,000 worth of funding to various organisations including Fife Gingerbread, which supports single parents, and Pink Saltire’s The Hive, a community hub for the LGBTQ+ community.

The programme will be running again this year with applications open to any charitable organisation operating in Fife.

More information regarding this will be available on the group’s website and social media channels in the coming months.
