HIT songs from Scottish favourites Simple Minds and Deacon Blue will be belted out by two top notch tribute bands in Cowdenbeath.

Rubber Stamp Promotions' first gig of 2022 is at Wee Jimmies on Saturday January 29 and will also feature support act Michael Law, from Crossgates.

Simple Minded pride themselves on being the world’s best Simple Minds tribute act and have been lauded by past and present members of the band, including singer Jim Kerr.

Fans will be treated to classics like Don't You Forget About Me, Alive and Kicking, Promised You A Miracle and Belfast Child.

Promoter Stuart Watson told the Times: "All the guys in the band are massive Simple Minds fans, so there's a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to deliver a brilliant set.

"In the band's own words they love what they do, absolutely love it and hope everyone who comes to their gigs loves it too.

"Singer George and bass player Stevie have both worked with original Simple Minds members Derek Forbes and Brian McGee on their own projects.

"I guess this really underlines the authenticity of Simple Minded and validates what this group is all about. They really are a band that you must see performing live!"

Also on the bill will be Deacon Blues, the only tribute band for Deacon Blue, and Stuart said they'll be working through the band's back catalogue, incorporating fan favourites such as Dignity, Real Gone Kid, Loaded and Chocolate Girl with some rarities.

He added: "Crossgates-based Michael Law will be playing an acoustic set to kick things off on the night and will be performing songs from the likes of Oasis, Paolo Nutini, Stereophonics, Johnny Cash, James and Gerry Cinnamon to name but a few."

Doors open at 8pm and tickets can be purchased in advance from Wee Jimmies and Ticketweb priced £10.
