COWDENBEATH have signed promising young centre back Sam Denham on loan from St Johnstone.

Manager Maurice Ross secured a deal for the 19-year-old to come to Central Park until the end of the season.

The teenager has nopw been given the chance to gain further experience in the SPFL and help Cowden try to climb up the League Two table.

Blues’ secretary David Allan said: “We are delighted to welcome Sam to the Blue Brazil as our manager continues to look to enhance the squad to face the challenges that lie ahead.

"Thanks once again go to St Johnstone for all their assistance with this loan arrangement."

Ross added: "I’d like to echo the thanking of St Johnstone and their manager Callum Davidson for us being able to get Sam aboard.

“He is a tough tackling young lad who has trained regularly with their first team and is a boy who I look forward to bringing into our club.

“Again it follows our young and hungry model and I’m happy he’s joined."

Denham joins Jacob Glass and Andrew Borrowman in joining up at Cowdenbeath and will be in the squad for this Saturday’s game at Stenhousemuir.
