IT is harder than ever for young people to get a foot on the property ladder, but Central Fife might be one of the best places to do so.
For offers over £44,950, this flat on Grainger Street, Lochgelly, is the cheapest property in the area right now.
While small, the flat boasts a good-sized bedroom, a separate kitchen, a well presented bathroom, and a large living area.
It is being marketed by Delmor Estate & Lettings Agents, Cowdenbeath.
The volume of property sales across Fife has increased by 10.4 per cent year-on-year.
A survey in 2021 found that the greatest obstacles for young people wishing to get on the property ladder are, affordability (73 per cent), saving for a deposit (62 per cent), and the availability of suitable properties (34 per cent).
Just over one in ten (11 per cent) of those surveyed, however, believe they will never be in a position to afford their own home.
